Annual Free Community Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners
Near holidays, Windsor Residents are invited to an
old-fashioned Holiday Dinner with all the trimmings.
About 400 people are served, most of whom are on low or fixed incomes. This free event is sponsored by the Windsor Service Alliance and the Windsor Care Network
(an effort of many Windsor faith communities including WCUMC).
The Thanksgiving dinner is held at WCUMC and Christmas is at Vineyard of Faith Lutheran; volunteers for both events come from all participating congregations.
On Saturday, November 17, 2012, 540 meals were served including many take out orders. 140 volunteers and many food donations made this wonderful day happen!
The next event is on Saturday, December 15 (at Vineyard of Faith).
We hope to expand this ministry to include more hot meals throughout the years and other services for the underresourced.
