“The stretch of Christian discipleship is to love those for whom it is not automatic, easy, common, or accepted. To love those who do not think like us or live like us, and to express respect, compassion, and mercy to those we do not know and who may never be able to repay us — this is the love Christ pulls out of us.”
— Bishop Robert Schnase, Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations
Each of us has been hard-wired to serve in a unique and special way to make a positive difference in the world around us. One reason the church exists is to help people discover what that “spiritual gift” is in them and to encourage and make space for them to exercise that gift in the service of humankind.
The hands-on mission opportunities available through Windsor Community United Methodist Church impact those in need in the local community and relieve human suffering around the world. Both one-time and ongoing opportunities for service are listed here, and these ministries are multiplying. Where two or three are passionate about serving, we are eager to start new projects. We encourage everyone to take a risk and jump in!
