Have you found yourself avoiding certain friends or family for fear of becoming embroiled in a heated political debate? “PURPLE”, a short film from political mediation organization Resetting the Table (RTT) and Emmy Award-winning Transient Pictures, tells the story of everyday Americans with opposing viewpoints addressing their differences head-on. Filmed in a swing region in rural Wisconsin and Iowa, “PURPLE” models a rare conversation that uplifts and inspires even while going toward the heat of political differences.
We are hosting a screening of “PURPLE” on Zoom on Wednesday, February 23 at 10 am. The 22-minute film will be followed by an hour-long “workshop” in which we will engage in some of the same facilitated conversational activities that are illustrated in the documentary. All are invited — and you might like to invite that friend or relative whose opinions make you uneasy!
