New Groups:

Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study - Saturdays at 10:30 am
This group is meeting in a church member's home.

We are currently about a quarter of the way through this intensive, high-commitment small group Bible study which will have you reading 90% of the Bible in the course of 34 sessions.  No previous Bible study experience is necessary.  Cost is $50.  Participants should also have an NRSV study Bible. Plan for approximately 30 minutes of homework each night during the weeks that the group meets; we are likely to take breaks for holidays and over the summer (exact schedule to be agreed upon by participants; it may take us 2 years to complete the course).  For more information or to sign up, contact Pastor Laurie  via her email.

Discovery Group
The Discovery Group will begin a new schedule in March, 2013, the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7 pm at Marylss and Andy Andreasen's Home, Larkfield.

They will begin a new topic in April, a study of the book Naked Spirituality: A Life with God in 12 Simple Words by Brian McLaren.  This is a very accessible -- almost deceptively simple -- book about prayer.  New participants are especially
welcome to come on board at this time!

The book is widely available (in hardback and paperback, new and used) and costs around $12.  To be part of a group order, please contact Pastor Laurie.

Contact Pastor Laurie  via her email for questions.

Other Ongoing Small Groups:

Monday Book Club
Meets in the sanctuary on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm.  No homework required; we simply take turns reading aloud through a book at a measured pace, discuss and enjoy fellowship.  Some books cover spiritual topics; others lead us to reflect on world events or on the broader human condition.  Drop-ins are welcome.  For more information, contact Marian Jones via her email.

Men's Breakfast
Meets every Thursday morning from 8 am to 9 am at Omelette Express, 150 Windsor River Rd.  A time of warm fellowship and "checking in" with other brothers in faith.  We also spend time reading and reflecting on a devotional and Bible passage from The Upper Room, a daily devotional guide produced by The United Methodist General Board of Discipleship. Newcomers and drop-ins welcome; you'll find the guys in the back corner closest to Safeway.  For more information, contact Jacob Meyer  via his email.
